2022 Lenten Series of Organ Recitals (11:30 am – 12:00 pm) and Ecumenical Services (12:00 – 12:35 pm)
As best we can determine from historical records, this series of Organ Recitals and Ecumenical Services during the season of Lent has been happening annually at St. Stephen’s since the 1920s, with the exception of cancellations in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic. Organ recitalists have included many accomplished local and regional performers. Similarly, guest musicians heard during the services have included vocal and instrumental soloists and ensembles from the greater Northeastern Pennsylvania region. Participating clergy in the services represent many of the various faith communities in Downtown Wilkes-Barre and its surrounding communities.
